Program Disclosures
October 26, 2026
These disclosures accompany the Velaris Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy effective October 26, 2026 and the documents issued to members of the Velaris Protection Program. They state who performs each function in the Program and the notices that apply to its insurance and non-insurance services. Nothing on this site is an offer of insurance, a binder or a policy. Coverage exists only under an issued policy or certificate, and that document controls.
1. Who Does What
- Velaris Group, Inc. operates this site and owns or licenses the program technology. It is not a licensed insurance producer, third-party administrator, adjuster, insurer, attorney-in-fact or guarantor, and it assumes no insurance or guarantee obligation.
- Velaris Protection Services, LLC (VPS) provides program administration, claims administration and adjusting only under applicable licenses and written authority from the responsible insurer or program party. Coverage and claim decisions are made by the issuing insurer or by VPS under the insurer's written delegation.
- Velaris Insurance Agency, LLC (the Agency) is a licensed insurance agency and surplus lines broker. It acts as each program member's producer and broker of record for conventional-carrier placements, issued directly to the member or under a group master policy issued to an approved master policyholder, and brokers members' annual insurance programs. It does not place, solicit or bind Reciprocal coverage and earns no commission on it. It is not an insurer.
- The Guild, a Risk Retention Group (the Reciprocal) is a reciprocal inter-insurance exchange licensed as a risk retention group in Vermont. It issues only liability insurance, under The Guild Hospitality Liability Policy (Form VEL-RRG-001 1026), directly to its subscriber-members, in the states where it is registered.
- Go Yonder, LLC serves only as attorney-in-fact for the Reciprocal under regulator-approved authority and is not the insurer.
- Master policyholders are group customers, such as a software company, a booking site or a professional association, to which a group master policy carrying Coverage Part Two (Loss of Income) and Coverage Part Five (Bed Bug Remediation) is issued for the benefit of participating members. A master policyholder is a customer of the Program and not a Velaris affiliate. It performs no insurance activity beyond holding its group master policy and carrying out lawful policyholder functions.
No entity is an affiliate, agent, insurer or guarantor of another by reason of its participation in the Program. The Program Placement Election and Policy Schedule issued to each member identifies the actual issuer and placement for each coverage.
2. Surplus Lines Placements
The Agency places conventional insurance on an admitted or non-admitted basis. Where insurance is placed on a surplus lines basis, it is placed with insurers that are not licensed in your state and are not subject to its supervision, and in the event of the insurer's insolvency, losses are not paid by any state guaranty fund. Surplus lines premium taxes and fees are billed with the premium and remitted as the placing state requires. Any state-specific surplus lines legend that applies to you appears on your certificate or policy.
3. Risk Retention Group Coverage
Liability coverage under the Program is issued by The Guild, a Risk Retention Group, a reciprocal inter-insurance exchange licensed as a risk retention group in Vermont under 8 V.S.A. chapter 141 and the federal Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986, 15 U.S.C. § 3901 et seq. It issues only liability insurance, directly to its subscriber-members, in the states where it is registered, and only to an eligible subscriber. Go Yonder, LLC is its attorney-in-fact and is not the insurer. No other entity assumes the Reciprocal's insurance obligations.
Federal law requires every policy issued by a risk retention group to carry this notice: this policy is issued by your risk retention group. Your risk retention group may not be subject to all of the insurance laws and regulations of your state. State insurance insolvency guaranty funds are not available for your risk retention group.
4. Non-Insurance Services and Guarantees
As a non-insurance service, VPS runs the Chargeback Receivables Guarantee program as its program operator, acting solely through a segregated guarantee program account that alone stands behind the guarantee. VPS administers, but does not fund or guarantee, a member's refundable rate waiver under the Refundable Rates Waiver Support Service. These services are not insurance, are not issued by an insurer and are not protected by any state guaranty fund. Velaris Group, Inc. assumes no insurance or guarantee obligation.
5. Site Information, Certificates and Automated Tools
Information on this site is general and is not legal, tax, accounting or insurance-coverage advice for your situation. Coverage descriptions, limits, sublimits, retentions, rates and terms shown on the site are illustrative and are subject to the policy and the certificate or declarations actually issued, which govern in the event of any difference. Coverage availability varies by state, and certain elections require underwriting approval before they apply. A certificate generated through the site only summarizes coverage recorded on its issue date; it confers no rights, does not amend a policy and remains subject to the issued policy. A portal output is not a quote, binder or coverage decision unless the authorized insurer or producer expressly identifies it as such.
6. Licensing
Licensing information for Velaris Insurance Agency, LLC and Velaris Protection Services, LLC, including applicable states and license numbers, is at velarisinsurance.com/licenses. Insurance is placed only in states where the Agency holds the required license, and not all coverages, endorsements or options are available in every state or for every property.
7. Complaints and Contact
Complaints concerning a policy or certificate may be submitted in writing, marked "Formal Complaint", to complaints@velarisinsurance.com. Nothing limits your right to complain to the insurance regulator of your home state or, for Reciprocal coverage, to the Reciprocal's domicile regulator in Vermont.
