Event liability insurance
Event liability insurance covers third-party bodily injury and property damage arising from an organized gathering — a wedding, retreat, or party — at a vacation rental, at limits selected for the event. It fills the gap left by host policies and platform protection, which typically exclude events.

Why this matters for property managers
Events are a revenue opportunity managers usually have to decline because nothing covers them. Being able to approve an event, charge for it, and bind coverage for that specific stay turns a policy problem into a product.

Event liability insurance: common questions
Does Airbnb cover parties?
No. Airbnb prohibits parties and AirCover excludes them; Vrbo's programs are similar. Organized events need their own coverage.
Can a property manager charge guests for event coverage?
Yes. Many managers add an event fee that funds the coverage and the additional cleaning and staffing an event requires.
Is event liability the same as guest liability insurance?
No. Guest liability, the liability layer of a short-term rental policy, responds to an ordinary guest who slips on the stairs; it excludes organized gatherings, extra attendees and hired vendors. Event liability is bound for a specific reservation and covers the injuries and damage a wedding, retreat or party produces, at limits chosen for that event, alongside the guest liability that stays in force.
